This high performance power unit is coupled with a new pencil design that integrates the heating element into the handle, while still providing a very short tip to grip distance. A special silver heating element is positioned directly behind the tip which provides optimum heat transfer to the soldering joint.  The advantages of this design is that when the tip wears out, only the tip needs to be replaced, generating real cost savings.
